Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of woman enters the Mrs. Colorado Pageant?

As its following continues to grow every year, Mrs. America attracts increasing numbers of women of various ages, vocations, and backgrounds. The variety of women the pageant attracts is hardly surprising. There are auto mechanics and airline pilots, doctors and dentists, aspiring models and actresses, wives and mothers, as well as traditional homemakers. The one thing they all have in common is that they are married and have an eagerness to compete.

What’s included in the prize package?

Each contestant typically receives a prize package valued at over $450.00. The winner of the crown receives a prize package valued at over $15,000.00. Prizes include the official crown, banner and trophy, an all expenses trip to the national pageant, $1,500 competition evening gown from The Bridal Collection, complete skin care by Ivory Med Spa, teeth whitening from Incredible Smiles, Physical and Nutritional Training from Shape Plus Personal Training, Quarterly Massages from Ilara Med Spa, Totebag from Mrs. Colorado pageant, a commercial photo shoot from Graphique Fine Art Photography, Haircare maintenance for her year from DJ at Timothy D's, A Salon, Year of Spray Tan from Rock Star Spray Tans,  Flowers from the Pretty & Posh Floral, Monthly service from Glosshouz, jewelry, and clothing.

Is there an entry fee?

Yes. We encourage our city and county titleholders to raise the entry fee in their communities. After all they have been exclusively selected to represent all of the married women in their areas. The entry fee covers the cost of doing business such as renting a theatrical facility, designing sets and music, as well as printing, advertising and phone expenses. Space is provided in the official program book to recognize your supporters.

DO YOU HAVE A DIVISION FOR SINGLE WOMEN?

Yes. A few years ago the national Mrs. America Organization added a new division for single, divorced, widowed and separated women. This division is going on its 4th year and happens in conjunction with the Mrs. Colorado® Pageant.

Do I have to have children?

No. Having children is not one of the basic requirements for entry. Several winners at the local and national levels haven't had children.

Am I too old or too young to win?

The judges are looking for a beautiful, well rounded, articulate woman. They are not asked to focus on age or length of marriage. In the 2010 Mrs. Colorado Pageant the state finalists ranged in ages from 22 to 70. Our Mrs. Colorado 2021 is 50 years young and our youngest Mrs. Colorado was Elisabeth Cartmill as she turned 21 during her year.

Do I have to peRform a talent?

No. In this pageant believe that maintaining all our daily roles is talent enough.

Will I be judged on community service?

No. Realistically most women are extremely busy with their careers and children. They are contributing to the community by virtue of serving their own families. While community service is stressed during the Mrs. Colorado® / Miss Colorado for America Strong reign there is no emphasis on community service in the actual pageant competition.

Do I have a chance to win if I’ve never competed in a pageant before?

Yes. Many women have won the title on their first try. Some have tried a second time while others have competed many times. It truly depends on the individual. Every one is given a fair opportunity to win.

Do I have to have pageant experience?

No. The majority of the ladies that participate have never competed in a pageant previously. Several winners at the local and national levels have won without any pageant experience. Our pageant framework is set up with the basis that majority of the contestants have never been in a pageant previously.
