For the second part, we'll transition back from the Capitol to a networking lunch with advocates and legislators, where we’ll hear from our Keynote Speaker, Judge Steven Leifman (Miami-Dade County, Florida). If you’re worried about needles, don’t be—most blood donors compare the experience to a mild, split-second pinch! Peace Day with Mrs. Denver

Link to event - Mrs. Denver is leading one of the workshops at event.

Dear Conifer High School Community,

We are excited to inform you about a unique opportunity for your child to participate in Peace Day. This school wide event is February 2, 2024. The Conifer Peer Counselors are in their eighth year of providing this event to the Conifer student body and staff. This day will be a closed campus.

Peace Day is a celebration of valuing the human experience. Conifer High School’s Peace Day mission is for students to seek to build bridges of understanding and connection between people of all walks of life. We aspire to strengthen our school community by recognizing the common humanity that unites us all.

Students will engage in a variety of activities and workshops ranging from educational events, cultural exchanges, and a wide variety of workshops from many different backgrounds. Students will choose 3 different workshops of their choice from 35 offerings on Friday, December 8th.

I have intentionally prioritized this day to allow participation by our entire student body. We have built the content to include representation from all walks of life and backgrounds. Please follow
THIS LINK to see the true measure of diversity that students can choose from. I encourage you to talk to your students about which seminars they choose to attend. Selections will be made during LAB on Friday, December 8th.

I believe that exposing students to a diverse range of topics is crucial in helping them discover their interests and passions.  By participating in Peace Day, your child will not only expand their knowledge but also develop a broader perspective on the possibilities that lie ahead.

The planning of this event starts a year in advance in order to secure speakers, plan and organize. To ensure the success of this event, it is imperative that your student attend school on Peace Day. We look forward to a successful and enriching Peace Day, providing our students with valuable insights into our world.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Sincerely,

Greg Manier
Principal

Join Mrs. Northern Colorado in creating Blessing Bags

I’m hosting a fundraiser to create 100 Blessing Bags for the homeless. Homelessness is something that is extremely personal to me. Often times, basic necessities are out of reach with no telling when they may be available to those who are struggling. This winter, my goal is to create and hand out 100 blessing bags for the homeless. These kits will include everyday essentials such as, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, hand warmers, hand sanitizer, feminine hygiene products, Razors, dog food for those on the streets with their furry companions, bottles of water, snacks etc. With winter approaching and homelessness prevalent in our communities, a little bit of hope and kindness for these individuals can be life changing. Starting November 1-December 15th, our donation list will be active for those who wish to contribute to the contents of the bags. On December 16th we will gather to assemble the bags and distribute the bags to any titleholders that wish to hand them out across their community throughout the winter. If anyone has questions or would like to participate in assembly, please reach out to Courtney Stoffel 303-884-0328.

Hike with Mrs. Northern Colorado and Bellamy!

6 year old Bellamy is currently battling leukemia. She was diagnosed back in March of 2023 after her mom, Sarah took her to the doctor for swollen lymph nodes. They got a heart wrenching diagnosis of Leukemia. She will undergo treatment for 2 years. During her treatment, her and her mom have a goal to complete 100 hikes. They currently have 22 under their belt. Mrs. Colorado and several of the other local titleholders would like to join Bellamy on one of these hikes (I think it will be hike #23 or #24 for her). Please join us in supporting Bellamy and raising awareness around Childhood Cancer. Right now, childhood cancer only receives about 4% of cancer funding. 47 children are diagnosed with some form of cancer everyday, 1 in 285 children will battle cancer during their childhood and the average age of a child diagnosed is 6 years old. Join us as we raise more awareness and bring change to our little warriors.

Date & Time 10/15 at 11:30am

Location: Golden Gate Canyon State Park - Mountain Lion Trail Loop https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/rocky-mountain-high-trail
