TTTS Race for Hope

This morning, I started the day at Washington Park for the TTTS Race for Hope. For those of you who aren't familiar with TTTS, it stands for Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome. "It affects pregnancies with monochorionic multiples when blood passes disproportionately from one baby to the other through connecting blood vessels within their shared placenta. One baby, the recipient twin, gets too much blood overloading his or her cardiovascular system, and may die from heart failure. The other baby, the donor twin or stuck twin, does not get enough blood and may die from severe anemia" (

The turn out was amazing despite the cold weather. I joined Bill Harris (former Denver Broncos) and Tom Terwilliger (bodybuilder and former Mr. America) in addressing the group before the run.

I hope you take some time to read the information on the Fetal Hope website. Just having my son only two years ago, I can't believe how unaware I was of conditions such as TTTS and other fetal distress syndromes.
